Our Work

One connected system around young people, the ocean and the growth of surfing and SUP.

The Foundation works across four connected areas. Each shows who it serves, what it does, what stage it is in and how progress is measured.

  1. 01 Wave Makers
  2. 02 Athlete Development
  3. 03 Ocean Conservation
  4. 04 Surf & SUP Development

Four programmes, one system.

Each programme addresses a different part of the same challenge. Together, they create access, support progression, strengthen ocean responsibility and build the wider sport system.

01

Wave Makers

Pre-implementation

An eight-year pathway that uses structured surf training to support school attendance, mentorship, nutrition, ocean safety, life skills and future opportunity.

Who it serves
Children from coastal communities, from Class 5 to Class 12.
The problem
Living near the ocean does not automatically provide safe sport access, school-linked support or a long-term pathway.
How progress is measured
Launch readiness first, followed by attendance, retention, band progression and graduation pathway uptake.
Open Wave Makers
A consistent standard

Every programme answers five questions.

Clear programme information helps communities, partners and supporters understand what is happening, what stage the work has reached and what evidence is available.

Partner and support

Support a defined area.

The Foundation does not present broad impact promises without a clear scope, budget and reporting method.
