How we support accessibility

We aim to make the website easier to understand, navigate and use by:

• Using a clear heading structure and readable text
• Maintaining sufficient contrast between text and backgrounds
• Supporting keyboard navigation for menus, links, buttons, forms and other interactive elements
• Providing visible focus states so keyboard users can see which element is selected
• Adding meaningful alternative text to informative images
• Using descriptive link and button text
• Providing labels and instructions for form fields
• Designing pages to work across desktop, tablet and mobile devices
• Reducing unnecessary motion for users who have enabled reduced-motion preferences
• Providing captions or transcripts for video content where they are available

Decorative images may use empty alternative text so they can be ignored by assistive technologies.

Keyboard navigation

The main navigation, links, buttons and form controls are intended to be usable without a mouse.

When navigating with a keyboard, the currently selected interactive element should have a visible focus indicator. We continue to review interactive components to identify and correct keyboard-access problems.

Forms, links and buttons

We aim to use clear labels, instructions and error messages in forms. Links and buttons should describe their purpose and should not rely only on colour or visual position to communicate meaning.

Images, documents and video

Meaningful images are intended to include alternative text that explains their purpose or content.

Where possible, videos will include captions, a transcript or an accompanying written summary. Some older videos, photographs, reports or downloadable documents may not yet have complete accessibility information.

We will improve these materials as they are reviewed or updated.

Known limitations

The website is being developed and improved, and some accessibility limitations may remain. These may include:

• Older documents that have not been fully prepared for assistive technologies
• Videos that do not yet include captions or transcripts
• Incomplete alternative text on older images
• Occasional keyboard-navigation or focus issues within third-party tools
• Content or controls supplied by embedded services that we cannot fully modify

These limitations do not mean that access problems should be ignored. We will review reported issues and make reasonable improvements where we can.

Third-party content

The website may include services or content provided by third parties, such as YouTube videos, maps, social media content, payment services, forms or other embedded tools.

Accessibility within these services is partly controlled by the third-party provider. We aim to choose and configure services responsibly, but we cannot guarantee the accessibility of every external platform or embedded feature.
