The Surfing Swami Foundation is led by a team of passionate individuals committed to building a sustainable surfing community in India while protecting the ocean. With their expertise in surfing and development, they offer development programs, scholarships, and ocean awareness to young kids. Their dedication is making a positive impact on the surfing community in India.
Surfing Swami (Jack Hebner) – Founder
Jack Hebner (Surfing Swami) established the Surfing Swami Foundation in 2014 to introduce surfing and other water sports to local community.
Gaurav Hegde – Director
Mr. Hegde is a dedicated supporter of the Foundation, whose guidance has led to successful projects and programs. Furthermore, Mr. Hegde’s expertise in securing government and CSR funding has been critical to financing the Foundation’s initiatives. He manages the overall direction of the Foundation’s goals, ensuring that they are aligned with the organisation’s mission and vision. Mr. Hegde’s advocacy and leadership continue to drive the Foundation forward in achieving its objectives.
Rammohan Paranjape – Director
Rammohan is a crucial member of the Foundation, responsible for numerous collaborations, partnerships, and funds. He has played a significant role in driving forward the Foundation’s projects alongside esteemed surfers. Rammohan’s strategic thinking and planning abilities have also helped to establish national and international connections in support of the Foundation’s goals.
Kishore Kumar – Director
Kishore Kumar has been an integral member of the Foundation since its inception. As one of the earliest surfers, Kishore has had the privilege of meeting renowned surfers and paddle board athletes, providing him with valuable insights to drive the Foundation’s mission forward. He remains deeply committed to advancing the Foundation’s goals, consistently seeking ways to improve its resources and garner international support.
Shamanth Kumar – Director
Shamanth Kumar is a highly skilled and experienced head coach and presenter of ISA certification courses. With a passion for surfing that began at a young age, he has become one of India’s most distinguished surf coaches and head judges for surf competitions.
In his role at the Foundation, Shamanth trains both athletes and instructors, imparting his knowledge and expertise to help them reach their full potential. He is also responsible for managing the administration and ground operations of the Foundation’s projects, ensuring their smooth execution.
Ravishankar Paranjape – Director
Ravishankar is a valuable member of the Foundation, serving as the content and tech lead. He has been instrumental in overseeing all of our online operations, digital space, and creative endeavours. Through his efforts, he has produced numerous videos, driven successful online campaigns, and helped establish the Foundation’s strong online presence.
He continues to dedicate himself to advancing its mission by leveraging his skills in content creation and technology to develop innovative solutions that drive the Foundation’s online presence and overall success.
Kiran Kumar – Director
Kiran Kumar is an esteemed member of the Surfing Swami Foundation, having been among the earliest surfers and a key figure in the Foundation’s development. Throughout his tenure, Kiran has been a driving force behind many of the Foundation’s successful fundraising campaigns, serving as a compelling spokesperson and champion for its mission and values. His deep-seated passion for the Foundation is palpable, and he has an uncanny ability to ignite that same passion and excitement in all those with whom he engages. Kiran’s unwavering commitment to the Foundation and its cause make him an invaluable asset to the team.
Saumya Dubey – Communications & Branding
Saumya Dubey, once just a passionate surfer, has seamlessly woven herself into the fabric of the Foundation. Motivated by its vision and driven by its mission, she embodies the essence of the Foundation wherever her travels take her, spreading its message and championing its brand.
