In a groundbreaking development for the Indian sports community, the inaugural  ‘WrkWrk Stand-up Paddle Race Clinic’, led by former world champion Daniel Hasulyo, has concluded with resounding success. Over the course of the past four days, Indian athletes underwent rigorous training under Hasulyo’s expert guidance, with a singular focus on improvement and the ambition to emerge as global contenders in the years to come.

Daniel Hasulyo, a pivotal figure in the global development of Stand-up Paddle (SUP) sports, is optimistic about India’s untapped potential in this discipline. He firmly believes that, given the right infrastructure and coaching, Indian athletes can not only compete but stand atop international podiums.

The Surfing Swami Foundation has been tirelessly working on a long-term project to provide world-class training facilities to Indian athletes. Today, this vision has become a reality as Indian athletes gain access to top-tier SUP boards and coaching.

This significant leap forward owes its success to the generous support of “WrkWrk,” a company specializing in creating premium co-working and managed office spaces. With a visionary goal of transforming the coast of Mangalore into a “Silicon Coast” that seamlessly blends work and the thrill of SUP/Surf, WrkWrk stepped forward as the title sponsor for this transformative workshop. Through their sponsorship, WrkWrk has provided the Surfing Swami Foundation with state-of-the-art SUP boards, facilitating superior training for Indian athletes.

We’re excited to announce our recent acquisition of new and used high-performance surfboards for our dedicated athletes. The event was attended by notable individuals, including Mr. ANUPAM AGRAWAL IPS, Mangalore Police Commissioner, and Mr. Dikshith Rai, CEO of CodeCraft Technologies.

We were also honored to have Mr. Gaurav Hegde, Director of the Surfing Swami Foundation, Rammohan Paranjape, Vice-President of the Surfing Federation of India, and Shamanth Kumar, Head Coach at Mantra Surf Club, join us for this special occasion. Their presence made the distribution of surfboards to our Surfing Swami Foundation athletes even more significant.

These surfboards will equip our athletes with the tools they need to improve their surfing skills. Our athletes will now have the opportunity to practice various maneuvers, enhancing their proficiency in the sport. This will better prepare them to represent our nation in both national and international surfing competitions.

The 4th edition of Indian Open of Surfing (National Surfing Championship), presented by Karnataka World, has come to a resounding conclusion, leaving in its wake an indelible mark on the surfing community. This action-packed event, hosted by Mantra Surf Club and organized by Surfing Swami Foundation, provided a captivating platform for India’s top surfers to showcase their skills and passion for the sport. under the aegis of Surfing Federation of India, the event received overwhelming support from sponsors, including Novigo Solutions, CodeCraft Technologies, Semnox, Rohan Corporation, Northern Sky Properties, Jaintubes, and the power sponsor Cycle Pure Agarbathi. Likewise, Kamali Moorthy showcased her remarkable talent by claiming victory in the Women’s Open and Girls 16 and under categories. These young surfers displayed immense potential, competing alongside seasoned veterans and securing their place among the surfing elite.

Meet Sathish Kumar, a renowned Stand Up Paddle Athlete and Founder of SUP MARINAA Club. He created history by becoming the first Indian to represent the country in ICF SUP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS held in Hungary in 2021. Sathish has also represented India in numerous international SUP competitions and has been appreciated by Hon’ble Vice-President of India. He is a staunch conservator of a plastic-free ocean and conducts plastic awareness paddling every year to create awareness about the dumping of plastic waste in waterbodies. This year, he has set his sights on a new world record by Stand Up Paddling solo between Dhanushkodi, India to Thalaimannar, Sri Lanka and returning to India, to create plastic awareness between the two countries in the historical pathway of Palk Strait. This solo paddling event will be dedicated to “ONE OCEAN SUMMIT” and India’s commitment to eliminating single-use plastic.

The Surfing Swami Foundation and 75 NCC cadets held a beach cleanup event at Mantra Beach in Mulki. The volunteers worked together to pick up trash and debris from the shoreline, making a significant impact on the cleanliness of the beach. The event was a success, with the volunteers remaining motivated and dedicated despite the challenging conditions. The Surfing Swami Foundation and the NCC cadets are already planning their next beach cleanup event.
